Workshop character in a shorter run.
Not every kitchen has room for a full length island, and at 95cm this one fits where the larger version can't. The Carter 2 Drawer Island Bench keeps the same Victorian influenced workshop design in a shorter footprint, with two drawers and side rails for hanging tea towels and utensils. The bluestone top carries mineral variation through the stone, so the surface differs from bench to bench. A bleached natural pine body keeps the timber light beneath. Its compact size also makes it useful as a preparation bench in a butler's pantry or against a wall rather than free in the room. A four drawer version is available.

Product Care
- Wipe clean with a damp cloth and dry with a clean cloth.
- Occasional application of a natural-based furniture polish is recommended.
- Do not use silicone-based products or other abrasive cleaners.
- Because of the natural movement of the timber, it must be expected that the wood will slightly change shape due to variations in humidity and temperature, depending on the conditions of your home.
- Therefore, care should be taken to avoid extreme heat conditions, moisture, and light, as this can cause the wood to swell, shrink or start to show signs of cracking.
- We recommend the use of the Guardsman Wood Care kits, to help maintain the beautiful appearance of the timber for longer
- Stone is a natural material, which means that it is porous and can stain easily, so wipe off any spills immediately.
- Clean the surface regularly with fresh warm water and a non-abrasive clean cloth. A non-abrasive, neutral (pH-balanced) cleaner will help remove dirt and grime, but is recommended that you first try warm water only, then use a cleaner only if necessary.
- Some of our stone top products have been sealed as part of the manufacturing process, but we recommend customers re-seal the top upon installation, and then again every year with a good quality stone sealer that is appropriate for the specific stone used. Follow the instructions on the sealer container for application and frequency of use.
- The sealing process acts as a stain inhibitor and prevents most stains and soil from being absorbed into the porous surface, but it is not a guarantee against staining.
- All spills should be cleaned immediately.
- To protect the surface, avoid contact with all oils and petroleum-based products. Also avoid contact with all acid or caustic products, such as vinegar, citrus or fruit juices, soda, chlorine, and nail polish remover.
- If the stone top is well-sealed, then warm water and non-abrasive cloth should keep it clean.
- Placing protective pads on the bottom of any heavy objects will help prevent scratching of the stone surface. Periodically rotate accessories on the stone top so that they don't sit in the same spot for an extended period of time
